Correct answer

  • CSí, cuando no exista zona peatonal practicable.Yes, when there is no usable pedestrian area.
Explanation

According to Article 122.1 of the General Traffic Regulations (RGC), as worded by Royal Decree 518/2026, when there is no usable pedestrian area, pedestrians will walk on the hard shoulder if there is one and it is usable, or otherwise on the carriageway, as far as possible from the vehicle traffic. The old exception in Article 121.2, which allowed use of the hard shoulder even when there was a pedestrian area, has been removed.
