Explanation
Under Article 118.2 of the General Traffic Regulations (RGC), as worded by RD 518/2026, cyclists under sixteen must wear a helmet on all types of roads. Those aged sixteen or over only have to wear one on interurban roads, unless they ride a bicycle as part of their job, in which case they must also wear one on urban roads and travesías.
