In built-up areas, on carriageways with at least two lanes in the same direction marked out by longitudinal lines, overtaking on the right is allowed after checking that there is no danger (Article 82.3 of the General Traffic Regulations). It is also allowed when overtaking a vehicle that is about to turn left, and trams running along the middle of the road.
