The right indicator is used to show a sideways movement to the right. According to Article 109 of the General Traffic Regulations (RGC), the driver must use visual signals to warn of any manoeuvre involving moving sideways, switching on the indicator on the side they are going to move to. So if a driver is going to move to the right, they must switch on the right indicator to tell other drivers that they intend to change lane or turn to that side.
