With burns we must: put out any fire left on the injured person's clothes (with blankets or earth); not touch the area or remove burnt clothing; not burst or cut any blisters; not apply ointments to the burnt area; apply cold water, and if possible put the burnt area in water; cover the wound with clean dressings soaked in water and hold them in place with a bandage.
