Correct answer
- CSólo si es necesario y de forma excepcional para no obstaculizar la circulación.Only if necessary and as an exception, so as not to obstruct traffic.
On a motorway (autopista), the general rule is to stop the vehicle on the right-hand hard shoulder when possible. However, in exceptional emergencies, if stopping on the hard shoulder is more dangerous or a greater obstruction, a less usual place may be considered. In any case, the priority is not to interfere with traffic or create extra danger for other road users. Where you stop must always be the safest option in the circumstances. So the central reservation would only be considered as a justified exception.
